Driver - SEN School
Salary: £25,989 per annum Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00-10:30am and 2:00-5:30pm (Term Time Only) Contract: Full Time, Permanent Reporting to: Transport Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and caring School Driver to join our team at a specialist SEN school. This role is vital in ensuring students travel safely and comfortably to and from school and school-related activities.
As the first person many pupils see at the start and end of their school day, you will help create a calm, supportive and positive environment during transport. You will also ensure vehicles are maintained to a high safety standard and transport schedules run smoothly.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport students and staff to and from school, trips and other activities
Ensure students are seated safely and supervised during journeys
Maintain a calm, positive and supportive environment for pupils
Follow agreed transport routes and schedules
Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any issues
Keep accurate transport records including passenger lists and incidents
Communicate professionally with school staff and parents where required
Ensure full compliance with road safety regulations and school policies
What We're Looking For
Full, clean UK driving licence
Experience driving in a professional capacity
Comfortable working with children and young people, ideally within an SEN environment
Reliable, punctual and organised
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and respond effectively to unexpected situations
Basic IT skills for communication and record keeping

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training.
