Early Career Teacher (ECT)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for newly qualified teachers who are eager to begin and continue their teaching journey in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Main Purpose of the Role
To deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire and motivate pupils. The ECT will work closely with experienced staff to develop their practice and contribute to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and support.
- Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment.
- Professional Development
- Participate in the school's ECT induction programme.
- Engage in regular CPD activities and mentoring sessions.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Contribute to school events, meetings, and initiatives.
Person Specification
- Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Desirable
- Experience working with children in a school setting.
- Familiarity with assessment for learning strategies.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

- Experience
- Experience planning and delivering lessons under supervision. Familiarity with assessment for learning and tracking pupil progress. Exposure to behaviour management strategies. Experience working with pupils with SEN, EAL, or from disadvantaged backgrounds. Participation in extra-curricular activities or school events during training.
- Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Completion of a PGCE or other teaching qualification that leads to QTS. Eligibility to work in UK schools (especially those funded by local authorities).
