Veritas Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Wakefield & Kirklees on a day-to-day basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, contribute to local education, and work flexibly around other commitments.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Provide support and encouragement to students across a range of subjects.
- Report back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues.
Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from:
- Graduates considering a career in teaching.
- Experienced Cover Supervisors or Teaching Assistants.
- Individuals with experience working with young people (e.g. coaching, mentoring, youth work).
- Confident communicators with strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills.
Requirements
- A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C or equivalent).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Availability at short notice and flexibility to travel within Wakefield & Kirklees.
