Learning Support Assistant
Location: West London Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-Time Only) Salary: £100 - £120 per day
About the Role
We're looking for a resilient, proactive, and motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist secondary provision supporting students aged 11-19 with Special Education Needs.
This is a role where you'll make a real difference every day - guiding young people through challenges, helping them stay on track, and pushing them to achieve more than they thought possible. You'll be part of a close-knit team, working directly with students who need strong role models, structure, and encouragement to succeed both in and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students across English, Maths, Science, PSHE, and other core subjects in both one-to-one and small group settings.
- Reinforce key skills in literacy, numeracy, and personal development.
- Work side by side with teachers to deliver engaging, practical, and differentiated activities.
- Use clear strategies to support positive behaviour and manage challenging situations.
- Encourage inclusion and participation so every student feels part of the team.
- Provide valuable feedback on student progress to shape future plans and interventions.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, mentor, coach, or similar role in secondary, SEN, or alternative provisions.
- Strong subject knowledge in Key Stages 3-5.
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or those at risk of exclusion.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate young people.
- A calm but firm approach, with resilience and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
- A genuine passion for helping young people grow in confidence and resilience.
