Are you an experienced and passionate Early Years Room Leader seeking your next challenge? Our client, a well-established nursery in Wakefield (Ossett), is looking for a Level 3 qualified or above Early Years Practitioner to join their team in the role of Room Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team, shape the learning experiences of young children, and potentially progress into a Deputy Manager position for the right candidate.
As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of your designated room, ensuring high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years. You'll lead a team of practitioners, mentor staff, and create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that promotes child development in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team of Early Years practitioners, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.
- Plan, implement, and review engaging learning activities that support children's development across all areas of the EYFS.
- Ensure children's individual needs are met, maintaining a child-centered approach that promotes emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and carers, and provide regular updates on child progress.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety regulations, and early years policies.
- Take responsibility for the room's daily operations, including maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Support, mentor, and guide less experienced staff, promoting their professional development.
- Actively contribute to nursery improvement plans and help implement new ideas and strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or above).
- Proven experience in an Early Years setting, including experience as a Room Leader or in a senior role.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team, ensuring everyone is working towards common goals.
- A passion for providing high-quality early years care and education.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
