Job Overview:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Burnley. This role involves providing essential 1-to-1 support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they can thrive in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to students with SEN, adapting learning activities to meet their needs.
- Assist in implementing behavior management strategies.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to monitor and assess student progress.
- Promote the development of communication skills, social interaction, and emotional well-being through tailored support.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
