Veritas Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in the Wigan area who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse / First Aider to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis with an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced first aider, school nurse, healthcare assistant, or medical professional looking to work within a busy and rewarding secondary school environment, supporting the health, wellbeing, and safety of students aged 11-16.
The Role:
- Providing first aid treatment and medical support to students and staff throughout the school day
- Responding to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies
- Administering medication in line with school policies and procedures
- Maintaining accurate records of incidents, treatments, and medication administration
- Supporting students with medical conditions and individual healthcare plans
- Liaising with parents, carers, school staff, and external healthcare professionals
- Ensuring the medical room and first aid supplies are fully stocked and maintained
- Promoting the health and wellbeing of students across the school
Requirements:
- Valid First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience within a school, healthcare, nursing, or first aid setting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- A caring, empathetic, and proactive approach
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is ESSENTIAL for this role
