Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have experience working one-to-one or with small groups in a primary school setting?
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry mainstream primary school in Hackney, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their support team.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, particularly in EYFS or Key Stage 1
- Lead and support small group interventions to assist with literacy, numeracy, and social skills
- Work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies
- Offer emotional and behavioural support to help pupils access the curriculum effectively
- Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff and parents
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children with SEN such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties
- Confident working both one-to-one and with small groups
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a positive, proactive attitude
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or teaching support are desirable but not essential
