Start Date: 22nd October 2025 Location: Southfields, London Agency: Veritas Education Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Part-time Salary: £27,839 (pro-rata) Full-Time Equivalent: £31,979 (Scale 4, Point 7 - NJC Pay Scale, including Government pay award) Application Deadline: 15th October 2025
Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated School Science Laboratory Technician to support a dynamic secondary science department in Southfields, London. This is a part-time, permanent role ideal for someone with a strong interest in science and practical learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up apparatus and materials for science practicals
- Safely dispose of laboratory waste, including hazardous materials
- Maintain and clean equipment, conduct safety checks, and ensure labs are tidy and functional
- Assist with the preparation of compounds, specimens, reagents, and microbiological materials
- Support teachers and students during practical sessions
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSE qualifications
- Basic understanding of science lab procedures and equipment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
