Teaching Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough Start Date: November 2025 Contract Type: Long-term Temporary Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered
Veritas Education is proud to be supporting a small and nurturing primary school in Middlesbrough that caters to children with a wide range of special educational needs. The school specialises in educating pupils with Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties. The school serves children from across the Middlesbrough area and beyond, representing a diverse social mix.
We are seeking a Level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistant with experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally within an SEN or SEMH setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team making a real impact in the lives of children who need it most.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils aged 4-11 with SEMH and additional needs
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families
Requirements:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in an SEN/SEMH setting
- A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
- DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
