Veritas Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Middlesbrough that caters for students aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The majority of students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school provides a nurturing, therapeutic environment to support their development.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join the team from October on a long-term temporary basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored occupational therapy interventions to support students' sensory, emotional, and physical development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support workers, and external professionals to implement EHCP targets.
- Support students with personal care needs, promoting independence and dignity.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi-disciplinary reviews and assessments.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered).
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or other complex needs.
- Comfortable with personal care responsibilities.
- Background in healthcare, therapy, or support work is highly desirable.
- Compassionate, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
