SEN Teaching Assistant - Haringey Primary School
Veritas Education is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Haringey. This is a full-time, long-term role, starting ASAP, working with children with a range of special educational needs across KS1 and KS2.
You will be providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, as well as working with small intervention groups, helping to bridge learning gaps and support emotional regulation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN (including Autism, ADHD, speech & language needs)
- Lead or assist with small group interventions to boost confidence and progress
- Support the class teacher in delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence and positive behaviour
- Work closely with SENCO and other professionals to track and monitor progress
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an SEN TA or in a similar support role
- Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
- Calm, patient and proactive approach to learning and behaviour
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
