Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1 (Level 3 Qualified)
Location: Bacup, LancashireStart Date: ASAPContract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Bacup who are seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across Key Stage 1, including Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, promote wellbeing, and help create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
About the Role:
- Support pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, both in class and through small group interventions
- Assist with phonics, early literacy and numeracy development
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning to meet individual needs
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to a nurturing school culture
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Have experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within KS1
- Be confident supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND
- Demonstrate a caring, patient and proactive approach
- Work in line with the DfE Teaching Assistant Professional Standards, including:
- Promoting the school's ethos and values
- Supporting pupil learning and development
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues and professionals
- Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Engaging in reflective practice and professional growth
