We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and committed Graduate Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in West London. This is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates considering a career in education, such as teaching, educational psychology, or SEN support. It may also suit those taking a year out before starting a PGCE or Master's degree.
Key Responsibilities:As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide academic and pastoral support to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Support learning in core subjects, including Maths and English
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Encourage students to engage actively in lessons and reach their academic goals
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom management, and pupil development
What We're Looking For:You will be:
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners
- Experience working with children or young people (e.g. in schools, tutoring, youth work, or mentoring)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Supportive, patient, and empathetic, particularly when working with students with SEN or additional needs
- A proactive and reliable team player, able to work collaboratively and independently
Desirable:
- An academic background in education, psychology, or related fields
- Relevant training or certifications (e.g. safeguarding, behaviour management)
- GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (Grade A-C or equivalent) are desirable, but not essential
