Job Vacancy: Teaching Assistant (One-to-One Support) - Reception (Non-Verbal Pupil)
Location: Lancaster Contract: Full-Time, long term - ongoing Start Date: September 2025
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a non-verbal Reception pupil starting this September in a primary school in Lancaster.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised support to a non-verbal Reception pupil in the classroom
Assist with communication and learning activities tailored to the pupil's individual needs
Support the pupil's social development and independence
Work closely with teachers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the team and family
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with young children, ideally with communication difficulties or non-verbal pupils
Patience, empathy, and strong understanding of alternative communication methods
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to learn
Relevant qualifications or training in SEND or communication support desirable
