Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception Class Location: Blackburn Hours: 8:45am - 3:30pm Contract: Until July, with potential to continue in September Grade: Level 2
We're looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Blackburn. You'll be working with pupils in Reception who need a bit of extra support 1:1, both in their learning and sometimes with personal care.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting Reception children with lower ability levels to help them settle in and learn.
- Helping with classroom activities, learning tasks, and routines.
- Working closely with the class teacher to make sure every child feels supported.
- Assisting with personal care when needed, always with sensitivity and respect.
- Creating a warm, inclusive and encouraging environment for the children.
What We're Looking For:
- Someone with experience supporting children with additional needs-especially in Early Years.
- A patient, kind and positive person who's ready to get stuck in.
- Ideally, you'll have a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or similar).
- Experience working in an SEN setting, and working 1:1 with children with additional needs

- All applicants will undergo an Enhanced DBS Check, reference checks, and any necessary overseas police clearances (if applicable) in line with safeguarding policies.
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment, including explanations for any gaps.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK and be willing to attend a registration interview.
