Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Cover Supervisor
Location: Greenwich, London Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Contract: Part time
About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Cover Supervisor to join our supportive and dynamic team in a vibrant school in Greenwich. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting students in their learning journey, providing cover in the absence of teachers, and contributing to the overall development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support students across various year groups in the absence of their regular class teachers.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and support students with their learning activities.
- Provide additional support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring inclusion and accessibility.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups of students, addressing their specific academic and emotional needs.
- Liaise with teachers and other support staff to ensure continuity in students' learning.
- Assist with assessments and record keeping as required.
- Help organise and support extra-curricular activities and school events.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting (as a HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or Cover Supervisor).
- A qualification in education (Level 4 or above) or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of the primary or secondary school curriculum and child development.
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
