Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 and Group Support) Location: Southwark, South East London Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP Salary: £85-£120 per day (depending on experience)
Veritas Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southwark, currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive staff team committed to providing the best outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
- Assist in delivering small group interventions to help pupils achieve their educational and personal goals.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Adapt resources and strategies to meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to the needs of the day.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification
- Relevant experience in a school, childcare or support setting
- Knowledge of strategies for managing behaviour and supporting EHCPs
