Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Primary Schools across Wakefield & Leeds Supply & Long-Term Roles Available
Are you an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) seeking new opportunities? We are looking for dedicated individuals to work in primary schools across Wakefield and Leeds, supporting teachers and students to achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
Role Overview: As an HLTA, you will take on a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education, ensuring that students engage with and succeed in their learning. You will be responsible for following pre-planned lessons, supporting classroom activities, and managing a group of students in line with the National Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow pre-planned work, ensuring effective delivery of the National Curriculum.
- Support class teachers in managing student behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Provide targeted support to students, both individually and in groups, to help with their academic and social development.
- Encourage student engagement and promote their confidence in the classroom.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback where necessary.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (Level 4 or above) or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working as an HLTA or in a classroom setting, preferably within a primary school.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and primary education.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Confidence in taking the lead in the classroom when required and working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for working with children.
