Are you an experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting pupils with challenging behaviour? We're working with a high school in Rossendale that is seeking a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone with a strong background in behaviour management and a genuine desire to make a difference.
About the Role:
You will be working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to:
Support pupils with behavioural needs in class and in small intervention groups
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and support learning under the direction of teaching staff
Contribute to behaviour plans and individual strategies
Help maintain a positive, safe, and structured environment
Build strong, trusting relationships with students who may display disruptive or challenging behaviour
The Ideal Candidate:
✅ HLTA qualification (Level 4 or equivalent) - Essential ✅ Proven experience in a behaviour support role in a high school or PRU setting ✅ Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies ✅ Excellent communication and de-escalation skills ✅ Ability to remain calm under pressure and be a positive role model
