Maths/ Science Teaching Assistant

Secondary School based in Twickenham
A small secondary school based in Twickenham are looking for a Teaching assistant who has a good understanding of SEN, to be able support children age 11-16 across their mainstream classes. The Teaching assistant role starts in April, trials and interviews will be held asap.
The school offer a fantastic enrichment programme for staff to be involved in, also homework and after school clubs. Parking available on site!
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small group
- Carry out assessments and observations as instructed by teachers
- Support with reading and writing - with a focus on students with special needs.
- As a Teaching Assistant, the students you support will vary age 11-16
- Write progress reports for students with SEN and varied abilities
Ideal skills and requirements:
- Math or science related degree
- Experience working with children in any setting/ understanding of SEN
- Experience working in a care setting e.g support worker or healthcare assistant
- Enthusiastic attitude towards learning.
- Be pro-active and professional.
