SEND Support Mentor
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Full-time/ Term Time only
Redbridge, East London
We are seeking a caring, proactive, and resilient SEND Support Mentor to join our team and work directly with pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural, and learning support. This role is vital in helping our students develop self-confidence, access their learning, and build key social and life skills.
As a SEND Support Mentor, you will work 1:1 or in small groups with children who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and speech and language difficulties.
SEND Support Mentor Role:
- Provide tailored mentoring and learning support to pupils with SEND
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, social development, and academic engagement
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to deliver individualised strategies
- Help implement EHCP targets and support transitions between activities or settings
- Develop positive, trusting relationships with students, acting as a consistent adult role model
SEND Support Mentor Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- A calm, empathetic, and supportive approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong behaviour management strategies and an understanding of safeguarding
- The ability to build rapport and support pupil engagement
- A willingness to learn and engage in training and reflective practice
