SEN 1:1 Support Assistant
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Full-time/ Term Time only
Hackney, North London
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and patient SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the child is supported both academically and emotionally.
This role requires someone with a calm, caring nature who can offer consistency, encouragement, and structure, helping the pupil to access the curriculum and develop independence in line with their individual needs.
SEN 1:1 Support Assistant Role:
- Support the identified pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
- Implement strategies and interventions as outlined in the pupil's EHCP and in collaboration with professionals
- Promote positive behaviour and help the pupil manage any challenges or sensory needs
- Adapt learning materials and provide differentiated support where necessary
- Provide feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents regarding progress and challenges
SEN 1:1 Support Assistant Requirements:
- Genuine passion for working with children with SEN
- Reliability, consistency, and emotional resilience
- Enthusiastic, proactive and committed to helping children reach their potential.
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs
