Position: Communication Support Worker Location: Primary Schools, Leeds Type: Long-term/Permanent Start Date: ASAP Salary: £90-£110 per day
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
Autism Support: Specifically supporting non-verbal children with Autism
1:1 Support: Providing tailored, individual support to students
Communication Tools: Knowledge and experience with PECs (Picture Exchange Communication System), BSL (British Sign Language), and Makaton
Behaviour Management: De-escalation techniques and strong behaviour management skills
Nurturing Approach: Setting clear boundaries, offering positive reinforcement, and providing a caring, supportive environment
