Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Geography teacher to teach across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, inspiring students to develop a keen interest in Geography, and helping them excel academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging pre-planned lessons in Geography across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where all students feel motivated and challenged.
- Support the development and progression of students, ensuring that each individual reaches their full potential.
- Assess students' progress regularly, providing feedback and targeted interventions to help them improve.
- Collaborate with the wider teaching team to share resources and best practices, ensuring a cohesive and effective curriculum.
- Ensure that students are prepared for external exams and assessments, offering support in revision and exam technique.
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities, particularly those related to Geography, such as field trips, clubs, and special projects.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and academic achievement.
- Uphold Veritas Education's values of excellence, inclusivity, and integrity in every aspect of your teaching.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in Education.
- A degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Geography in secondary education, preferably at both GCSE and A-Level.
- A passion for Geography, with a deep understanding of the subject and the ability to make it accessible and engaging for students of all abilities.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to professional development.
- A proactive and collaborative team player, willing to contribute to the wider school community.
