The school is now looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their committed team and provide tailored support to children with additional needs.
Role Overview: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide individual and small group support to students with a variety of learning needs. You'll play a key role in helping students thrive, supporting them in their academic, social, and emotional development. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored interventions and learning activities to support individual students' needs.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to participate in their learning.
- Support students with personal care needs, including toileting and feeding, where appropriate.
- Track and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO to help inform ongoing planning and support.
- Implement strategies to manage and improve behaviour, promoting positive social skills and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to develop and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure that students receive the appropriate support.
- Help to create and maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where students are motivated to succeed.
- Promote students' independence and self-esteem by encouraging them to take responsibility for their learning and personal growth.
- Follow the school's safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare and well-being of all students.
About You: We are looking for a caring, patient, and proactive individual who is passionate about working with children and supporting their development. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either a school or other educational setting (desirable but not essential).
- A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A good understanding of different types of SEN and the strategies required to support students with those needs.
- A commitment to promoting the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
- A proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to respond to the changing needs of students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all children.
- SEN-related qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification) would be an advantage.
