Graduate Learning Support Assistant (SEND)
Location: Leeds Position: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent Start Date: ASAP Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
We are currently recruiting for multiple Graduate Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive and dynamic team at a well-regarded school in Leeds. These roles are ideal for graduates with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those who are interested in pursuing a career in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support to pupils across Upper KS1 and KS2 with SEND.
- Support teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individual learning plans for pupils.
- Manage behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Set clear boundaries and maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour.
- Nurture and encourage pupil progress, promoting independence and confidence.
Requirements:
- Graduate-level education (preferably in Psychology, Education, or related fields).
- A passion for working with children, particularly those with SEND.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Ability to set clear boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
- A nurturing approach with the ability to de-escalate situations.
- Enthusiasm for a career in education and a desire to make a difference.
