Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant with 1:1 Support, you will work closely with both the class teacher and individual students to support their academic, social, and emotional development. Your primary responsibility will be providing one-on-one support to students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). You will also assist with delivering lessons, ensuring all children receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with SEN, to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that learning is inclusive and accessible for all students.
  • Support students on a small group or individual basis during classroom activities, helping to reinforce learning.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher.
  • Support positive behaviour management and help maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
  • Assist students during lunch and break times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Engage in school activities, meetings, and training as required.
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Experience in providing one-on-one support, particularly for children with SEN.
  • A solid understanding of the primary school curriculum and how to adapt it to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable.
