Position: Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Preston/Leyland, Lancashire Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a thriving primary school in Preston/Leyland. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to take on additional responsibility within the classroom while working as part of a dedicated and supportive team. If you are committed to helping children succeed and have the necessary skills to work across various age groups and abilities, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons for students across the curriculum.
- Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group support for students, including those with additional learning needs.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Take responsibility for leading lessons and interventions where appropriate, under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and reporting to the class teacher.
- Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and school staff to enhance the overall learning experience for all students.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A Level 4 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- Experience working as a teaching assistant, with a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Demonstrable experience in leading lessons, interventions, and providing 1:1 or small group support.
- A passion for working with children and supporting their educational and personal development.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
