A nurturing and inclusive school based in Bromley, London that I work with are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors to join their dedicated team. These are long-term positions with the view to becoming permanent for the right candidates.
Position 1: SEN Teaching Assistant
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and emotional development of students with special and complex needs.
Your responsibilities will include:- Providing tailored support to children with diverse needs across all lessons and subjects.
- Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Encouraging independence and confidence in students' learning journeys.
- Adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each child.
What we're looking for:- A resilient and empathetic individual who remains professional under pressure.
- Someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Flexibility to support various subjects and adjust to different teaching methods.
- Previous experience in SEN or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
Position 2: Behaviour Mentor
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will focus on supporting students with challenging behaviour, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging personal growth.
Your responsibilities will include:- Supporting children with behavioural challenges to access their education.
- Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to understand and meet their needs.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and parents to ensure consistency in approach.
What we're looking for:- A confident, resilient individual who can handle challenging situations calmly.
- Someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Prior experience in a similar role is a plus but not mandatory.
