£95-£105 per day
ASAP and January 2025 startVeritas are currently working with a number of primary, secondary. and SEN schools based in West and South West London. These schools are looking for dedicated and resilient Graduate Teaching Assistants with a psychology background to work in full time roles starting asap. They are looking for candidates who will be a positive influence & role model for children and young students. The position will involve supporting students at all levels in a classroom setting.
You will ideally have some sort of experience in working with young people, perhaps you may have an interest in teaching in the future. Experience or knowledge in working with young people with learning difficulties would be beneficial. You will be empathetic, resilient, and confident with behaviour management.
Responsibilities for Graduate Learning Support Assistants include:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis including those with special educational needs and learning difficulties.
- working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels.
- encouraging students to engage proactively with their learning.
- helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn.
- assisting the teacher with students general learning and development.
You will be:
- A Psychology graduate (or from a related field).
- Proactive and a strong communicator, able to build a rapport with students.
- Experienced in working with children and young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Reliable and committed to the school and students' improvement.
- Enthusiastic and engaging.
- Able to work alongside the teacher and independently.
- Patient and empathetic.
- Knowledgeable in special needs and learning difficulties.
