Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour-Focused Teaching Assistant to join a prestigious secondary school in Hounslow, starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with additional needs, excellent behaviour management skills, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN), focusing on behaviour and emotional development
- Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviour
- Work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students both inside and outside the classroom
- Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Support individual students or small groups, providing interventions where needed
- Assist with the delivery of educational plans, ensuring students remain engaged and on track
Requirements:
- Previous SEN experience (desirable but not essential)
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and proactive approach to supporting students
