EAL Teaching Assistant - Secondary School, Bushey
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Bushey for an experienced EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students for whom English is not their first language, helping them to achieve academic success and integrate confidently within the school community.
Role Overview:
- Provide tailored support to EAL students across different year groups, focusing on language acquisition and comprehension skills
- Work closely with classroom teachers to deliver targeted interventions and adapt learning materials for EAL students
- Assist with developing and implementing individual learning plans to support student progress and integration
Requirements:
- Experience as an EAL or ESL (English as a Second Language) Teaching Assistant in a school setting
- Strong understanding of language acquisition challenges and strategies for supporting EAL students
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Proactive, adaptable, and patient approach to helping students overcome language barriers
