About Us:Veritas working with a mainstream secondary school that are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all of its students. Their mission is to empower every learner to reach their full potential. The school are seeking a passionate and committed SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join their dynamic team and teach in the new SRP.
Role Overview:As a SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs. You will run targeted interventions, teach core subjects, and work closely with a dedicated team to create tailored learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of their students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Run interventions to support students' academic and social development.
- Teach core subjects while adapting materials and methods to suit individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists (OT) and Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) to incorporate their strategies into classroom practice.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting approaches as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.
- Knowledge of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) practices.
- Strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
