Are you a recent graduate from Maths, Science, English or another core subject, with aspirations to become a teacher? Do you have a passion for supporting students with mild Autism or ADHD? We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our thriving secondary school in Southwark.
This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in education as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), with the potential to transition into a Teacher Training Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to secondary students, particularly those with mild Autism/ADHD, across various subjects.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to succeed.
- Help to foster an encouraging, positive learning environment that nurtures the growth and development of all students.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to address the individual needs of students and adapt learning plans where necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
- A graduate in Maths, Science, or another core subject.
- Experience working with SEN students (Autism/ADHD) or in a mainstream school setting is highly beneficial.
- Passionate about pursuing a career in teaching, with the drive to grow and develop in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills, empathetic, and able to build rapport with students and staff.
- Ideally, a Master's degreeand/or a graduate from Oxford or Cambridge(though not essential).
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to making a lasting impact on students' academic and personal growth.
