SEN Support Mentor
Type: Temporary to Permanent / Long-Term Assignments Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Salary: Dependent on experienceThe Role
We are looking for passionate, confident and resilient SEN Support Mentors to join a range of specialist schools and SEN settings across Leeds and the surrounding areas.
As an SEN Support Mentor, you will work alongside Teaching Assistants, Teachers, Leadership and external professionals to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment.
You will support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, communication difficulties and social, emotional and behavioural needs.
The role may involve 1:1 and small-group support, sensory activities, play, creative learning, communication development and supporting emotional regulation. Some settings may also require support with medical, physical or personal care needs, following appropriate training.

Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people.
SEN/SEND, education, care or support experience is desirable.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow individual support plans, behaviour strategies and risk assessments.
A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's well-being.
Relevant SEN, Education, Childcare or Health & Social Care qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, or willingness to apply.
