Veritas Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with a passion for Science to make a real difference in students' academic achievement and engagement.
Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we would love to hear from candidates who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach a Science specialism at Key Stage 5 being advantageous.
The Role
As a Science Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Inspire students to develop curiosity and enthusiasm for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively.
- Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
- Contribute to departmental activities and wider school life.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Veritas Education.
