Class Teacher - Phonics Lead
(September 2026 Start)
Location: WF12 Pay Rate: £135-£180 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time
Are you a passionate and motivated Primary Teacher with a strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher specialising in Phonics to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the WF12 area from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to raising attainment and helping young learners develop the essential reading and writing skills needed for future success.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality phonics lessons and literacy interventions.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children can thrive.
- Assess, track and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote excellent phonics practice across the school.
- Support pupils to develop confidence, fluency and a lifelong love of reading.
- Contribute to wider school life and ongoing professional development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has recent experience teaching within a primary school setting.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of phonics schemes and early reading strategies.
- Has a proven ability to support and accelerate pupil progress in literacy.
- Possesses excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
- Is committed to providing engaging and inspiring learning experiences for all pupils.
