Electrical Engineering Lecturer

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a forward-thinking Further Education College in Newcastle during a significant period of growth and investment.

    Based within a state-of-the-art Academy, this role offers the chance to work in a brand-new facility, equipped with industry-standard technology and modern learning environments. You will play a key role in developing the next generation of engineers and supporting the future workforce within the energy and engineering sectors.

    The Role

    As an Electrical Engineering Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across electrical engineering programmes
  • Support learners in both practical workshop settings and classroom environments
  • Contribute to curriculum development within a rapidly growing department
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  • Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment in line with industry standards
  • Essential Requirements

  • HNC/HND (Level 4/5) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven industry experience (e.g. electrical engineering, manufacturing, energy, maintenance)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation, maintenance, and fault finding
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for supporting and developing learners
  • Key Technical Competencies

  • Electrical principles and power systems
  • Industrial installation and maintenance
  • Fault diagnosis and testing techniques
  • Motors, drives, and control systems
  • PLCs and automation fundamentals
  • Electrical drawings and schematics interpretation
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance
