Secondary Cover Supervisor - Performing Arts Background
Looking to gain classroom experience through Drama, Music or the Performing Arts?
Veritas Education is recruiting enthusiastic and confident individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Teesside. These full-time, long-term opportunities are ideal for Drama graduates, Music graduates, Performing Arts students, aspiring teachers, actors, musicians, workshop leaders and those with experience coaching or leading young people.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, helping to maintain a positive learning environment while supporting pupils' engagement and progress. Schools are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a creative background who can inspire confidence, communication and teamwork in young people.
The role:
- Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Encourage participation and engagement
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Support extracurricular activities where appropriate

- Actors and Theatre Practitioners

What we're looking for:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Confidence leading groups of young people
- A positive and proactive attitude
- Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
