Reflect Room Manager - Secondary School (Temporary Full-Time)

Are you a confident, resilient and highly organised individual with experience working with young people? Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a Reflect Room Manager to join a welcoming secondary school in East Lancashire on a full-time temporary basis until Christmas, with an immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in behaviour support, pastoral care, youth work, teaching assistance, cover supervision, education welfare or school administration who are passionate about helping students make positive choices and succeed in school.
The Role
As the Reflect Room Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the school's behaviour and pastoral systems. You will oversee the day-to-day management of the Reflect Room, providing a structured environment where students can reflect on their behaviour, remain engaged with learning and work towards positive outcomes.
Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, teachers, students and parents, you will be responsible for ensuring behaviour systems are consistently applied and accurately recorded while supporting students to develop positive attitudes towards learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the school's Reflect Room and internal exclusion provision.
- Supervising students removed from lessons and ensuring they complete appropriate work.
- Promoting positive behaviour, engagement and attendance across the school.
- Supporting students on an individual basis and responding to their pastoral needs.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Maintaining accurate behaviour, detention and exclusion records using SIMS.
- Monitoring and managing detention attendance and follow-up processes.
- Communicating with parents regarding behaviour incidents and sanctions.
- Supporting the school's rewards and recognition systems.
- Assisting with behaviour analysis and reporting.
- Liaising with senior leaders, pastoral teams, local authorities and external agencies as required.
- Supporting wider pastoral duties, detentions, break and lunchtime supervision, and school events where needed.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with secondary-aged students.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Experience using SIMS or similar school management systems (desirable but not essential).
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with students, staff and parents.
- A proactive, resilient and flexible approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
