Level 2 EYFS Practitioner (SEN Support)
Lancaster | September 2026 to April 2027 Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 3:00pm
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming nursery in Lancaster seeking a dedicated and nurturing Level 2 EYFS Practitioner to join their team on a long-term basis from September 2026 until April 2027.
This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is currently attending the nursery before transitioning to a specialist SEN school placement in April 2027.
The child is non-verbal, mobile and active, and can occasionally display behaviours that challenge when feeling overwhelmed or unable to communicate their needs. The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and committed to creating a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
The Role
- Supporting a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a one-to-one basis
- Encouraging communication, engagement, and social interaction
- Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Working closely with nursery staff, SEN professionals, and parents/carers
- Promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification
- Has experience supporting children with ASD and/or additional needs
- Understands strategies to support children who may display behaviours that challenge
- Is patient, calm, and able to build positive relationships
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
