Veritas Education are recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Middlesbrough seeking a dedicated Behaviour & Wellbeing Mentor to join their team from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning, engagement and attendance.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with backgrounds in:
- Youth Work
- Children's Residential Care
- Family Support
- Mental Health Support
- Social Care
- Community Outreach
- Behaviour Intervention
- Sports Coaching and Mentoring
- Alternative Provision Settings
The Role
- Supporting students aged 11-16 with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Building trusted relationships with vulnerable young people
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
- Providing mentoring and one-to-one support
- Encouraging confidence, resilience and engagement in education
- Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom
We Are Looking For
- Experience supporting young people, either within or outside of education
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- A calm, resilient and nurturing approach
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and young people's mental health
- The ability to inspire confidence, self-esteem and positive outcomes
- A genuine passion for making a difference
