Veritas Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Huddersfield to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced practitioners and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join a supportive department and make a positive impact on pupils' learning and development.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, teaching Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies (subject specialism welcomed). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to raising attainment and fostering a love of Humanities within a diverse and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative and well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement in line with school policies
- Engage fully with the wider school community, including parents and carers
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Humanities in a UK secondary school setting (placements considered for ECTs)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education
- Excellent classroom management skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A proactive and reflective approach to professional development
