1:1 Teaching Assistant Ribble Valley | Full Time | September Start
I'm currently working with a lovely, welcoming primary school set in the heart of the Ribble Valley, and they're looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with visual impairment from September.
This is a really special opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's day-to-day school experience, offering tailored support to help them access learning, build independence and feel confident within the classroom environment.
The role: You will be working closely with one pupil on a 1:1 basis, supporting them throughout the school day. This will include adapting resources, guiding them through tasks, and helping them to fully engage with lessons and social interactions. You'll also work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to ensure the right strategies are in place.
What the school are looking for:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEN experience
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Confidence in supporting children with additional needs (experience with visual impairment would be a bonus but not essential)
- Someone who is proactive and able to adapt teaching materials where needed
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
Location: The school is in a more rural part of the Ribble Valley, so being a driver is strongly recommended due to limited public transport links.
Why this role? The school has a really supportive staff team and a strong focus on inclusion. You'll be part of a setting that truly values the impact of its support staff and the difference they make to children's lives every day.
If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can build a meaningful relationship with a pupil and support them in reaching their full potential, I'd love to hear from you.
