SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Blackpool | September Start
Location: Blackpool Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Blackpool from September. This role involves working closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.
You will play a key role in supporting the child's academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring they feel safe, engaged, and confident throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Implement strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan)
- Support the pupil's emotional regulation and behaviour in a calm and positive manner
- Encourage independence and participation in classroom activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and flexible attitude
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) - desirable but not essential
