1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Garstang (KS2 Experience Essential)
Location: Garstang, Lancashire
The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a primary school setting in Garstang. This role involves working closely with a child in Key Stage 2, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs
- Assist in delivering targeted interventions and differentiated learning
- Support the pupil's emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
- Monitor progress and contribute to reports and reviews
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Experience working within Key Stage 2 (essential)
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
- Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, nurturing approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. TA Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential
