Food Technician
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (Term Time Only)
Salary: Competitive, pro-rata
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and organized Food Technician to join our successful Design & Technology team. This part-time role is vital to ensuring our practical classrooms are safe, clean, and exceptionally well-managed, allowing teachers to deliver high-quality lessons.
Key Responsibilities
Hygiene & Maintenance: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. This includes the daily cleaning and deep cleaning of ovens, hobs, work surfaces, and equipment.
Allergen Awareness: Ensure strict management and awareness of pupils' food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements to maintain a safe environment.
Budget & Stock Control: Manage the food department budget efficiently, handling the ordering, purchasing, and preparation of ingredients while minimizing waste.
Classroom Support: Prepare and set out ingredients and equipment for Food Tech lessons.
About You
Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
Meticulous attention to hygiene, food safety, and allergen control.
Experience managing budgets, stock, or resources.
Comfortable maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient practical workspace.
Sympathetic to the supportive, high-achieving ethos of a secondary school environment.
