Location: Fleetwood Role Type: Full-time / Long-term (with potential for permanent) Start Date: September 2026 Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Fleetwood this September.
This is a varied role where you will provide both 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs, as well as working within small group settings, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 tailored support for pupils with SEN
- Support small groups of children with additional learning needs
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated activities
- Help manage behaviour and promote positive engagement
- Adapt resources to meet individual learning requirements
- Support pupils' emotional, social, and academic development
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff
Requirements
- Essential: Previous experience working with children with SEN
- Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties
- Ability to support both individual pupils and small groups
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Relevant TA or SEN qualification (desirable but not essential)
