Veritas Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Dewsbury to recruit a committed and passionate English Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join a supportive department and make a meaningful impact on pupils' progress in English.
The Role
- Full teaching responsibility across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and behaviour standards
- Contributing to departmental planning and wider school life where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Has experience teaching English within a UK secondary setting
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
- Is committed to upholding the Department for Education Teachers' Standards
- Shares a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Both experienced teachers and strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
